This was one of those episodes that started out as one thing and ended up being something completely different. Originally I wanted to talk about why I have come to terms with the New 52, tie that into DC’s house ads from the late eighties and even add in a little discussion on the way DC would separate their various titles during that time period. That evolved into me talking about my love for DC Comics which evolved into me talking about the two issue Prestige Format series History of the DC Universe. And thus a regular sized but fun episode of Views is born. I cover a good bit of ground before getting into the History but after the first break I go through the series and explain why it and the DC Universe it represents means so much to me.
During the course of the episode I thank a guy by the name of Robert J. Kelly. Robert is the webmaster of the Aquaman Shrine as well as the co-host of the Aquaman/Firestorm podcast The Fire and Water Podcast. Check out his various sites and the podcast, which just so happens to be co-hosted by my semi-regular co-host the Irredeemable Shag.
Also I announce a new blog I am starting called DC House Ads: The Blog. It launches on December 3rd, 2012 and can be found here. Check it out!
Just for grins here is the back cover to the 2001 softcover edition of History of the DC Universe.
Next time: I have no clue, but I am hoping to wrangle a guest host to talk about…something.
