Episode 93 A: 1993 or “Bleeping 1993″
Remember the one or two times when I would split an episode up over two episodes and call it “Episode # Whatever Part 1″ and “Episode # Whatever Part 2″? Remember when I said that I wouldn’t be doing that anymore? Yeah, had to break that rule for this episode mainly because it would throw off the episode numbering to talk about 1993 in episode 94. I may have to do this again for 1997 depending on how long that particular installment goes.
For this portion of ’93 Shag and I open the show with some e-mails, which gives us an excuse to talk about All-Star Squadron and New Mutants. Plus an e-mail from Thomas Deja gives a run down on who Pete Wisdom was, which I appreciated. After an A Pup Named Scooby-Doo reference and the usual musical montage we dive right into 1993. Topics include the end of Funeral for a Friend, how readers were reacting to the Post Death of Superman material, Destiny’s Hand from Justice League America, the Return of Barry Allen from Flash, the introduction of the Milestone Universe, the production of Big River that I was a part of in the spring of 1993, my junior prom and how that ties into Adventures of Superman #500, Knightfall and why I wasn’t buying too many comics in the early part of the summer of 1993.
